Here is the conclusion of my story from yesterday. Enjoy and learn my friends.
PART TWO
Quick recap from PART ONE...
I paid for the Macbook Pro Dec. 3.
Ok, now that we've recapped Part One, we are ready to move on. Let us fast forward now to Mid-January. I've emailed this person, this person says they are going to personally take it to UPS to have it delivered. Wicky Wicky. Sorry. Ok, so after numerous emails bugging this person about a Confirmation Number, I get no confirmation number but an email saying that the Computer got shipped back to them b/c of a wrong address. Reminder to you folks: I sent my mailing address to this person on multiple occasions. This person proceeds to tell me that they will drive the computer to me the following day. So what do I do? I go into work and tell my boss that I'd probably have to leave early to meet this person to get the computer...I cancel all pre-arranged appointments that I had for that day to allow time to meet this person "when" they called/contacted me. I heard nothing that day, or the next day, or the next, not the next day either...on Saturday, I send this person an ichat message asking whats up? He says the Macbook Pro is sitting in a box next to his desk waiting to be shipped. Um ok. We then make it a point to schedule a definite time and place we are meeting, so that both of us can be there. We both have iphones, so we program our little ICal app to remind us of that wonderful appointment that we made. Keywords in this paragraph--We made an appointment(i.e. date/time/place).
It is now the following Tuesday, the day I have been anticipating since, well...Dec. 3. I'm getting my computer. I'm leaving work early, driving more than halfway to meet this person, offered to buy him a drink(Starbucks, folks). Our meeting time was for 3pm. I leave work at 1pm, arrive at destination at 2:45pm. I get an email asking for my phone number(Igiveit), and he told me that he was running late and it would be 5:00 before he could arrive. Um ok. By the way, this whole time(2months)..I was nothing but patient and polite..even on this day I remained calm. I was excited about getting a computer. Fast forward two hours later to 5pm, I havent heard from this person..I get an email saying he was on his way. I'm in Starbucks meeting new people and staring at the wall. At 6Pm I get an email(has anyone noticed that I'm not getting phone calls, but emails?), saying for me to go home b/c he got lost. Patience then reached an all time low of 0%. I leave my job at 1pm(I'm on hourly pay, so I dont get paid for taking that time off), I drive a total of 4hours round trip for nothing(gas is high), my wife was cooking a meal(i should have been home at 5ish since the meeting was at 3), I get home at 8PM. We'll just leave it at that.
Two days later, Thursday, my laptop arrives in the mail. At this point, I didnt even want it haha. Sure enough, its dinged and knicked(it had definitely been dropped, which is why Apple wouldnt fix this computer...Apple doesnt cover accidental damage). Sure enough, it cuts slam off when you unplug the power cord. I knew this when I bought it..Im just restating it. Since this person had tried a new battery and power cord, and after a ton of research on my part(I had plenty of time, right?), I knew this wouldnt be an easy fix if it could be fixed at all. I get this random idea on Friday to see if my wonderful wife Megan would want to go to Charlotte for a visit to the Apple store, as well as some dinner and shopping. She agreed. I wanted to just try my luck and see if Apple could do anything for me, although I didnt have high hopes.
We arrive at the Genius Bar and I explain to the Apple guy the situation. We spend over an hour and a half at this genius bar. We did a bunch of things. Here is a recap. He tells us that the person I bought the laptop from still had Applecare coverage left. Yes. This is a beautiful thing. However, when he saw the ding on the laptop that clearly indicated it had been dropped...he made one of "those" faces. Remember, Apple doesnt fix accidental drops. He made the conclusion that a good battery works, and the power cord works, but somewhere in between the two there is an issue. By the way, this usually means the big $$$ items in the laptop. He said that if they shipped it off, then the repair people would decide if they would fix it since it was dropped, and said more than likely they'll turn it down. (Remember how the person I bought it from said Apple wanted to charge them big bucks to fix it?). He then asked if we would excuse him while he goes and speaks with his manager. Sure we will. We love waiting. He comes back and long story short, he tells me that they will send the laptop off to get fixed and that all the charges to it, Apple will take care of it. WHAT?? Are you kidding me? I didnt even have a word to say to this guy. Incredible. He started naming off things he thought would need to be fixed internally. I then place everything on the computer on my new portable hard drive, and handed it to the Apple guy to be shipped off.
So, now its time for the conclusion. I get the laptop in the mail a few days later. I open it up and look at the computer, then look at the bill where they explain what they replaced...all I do then is sit in my chair and smile with unbelief. Apple pretty much gave me a brand new Macbook Pro. They replaced the logic board, the hard drive, and ton of other things...and completely replaced the casing and screen. Well over $1000 of replacements. After all of the drama and crap I went through for almost two months, the end result is practically a brand new Macbook Pro. Call it what you want, but Megan and I drove away from the Southpark Mall that night rejoicing over what had just happened. We couldnt believe it at all. We truly believed that the Lord rewarded me for my patience and rewarded me for not saying things that I wanted to say and do things that I wanted to do. I know that might sound silly, but we believed it to be true. And this is all the more reason that I chose not to vent and bash this person, b/c in the end I was the one who came out for the better. This person never gave me the $200, nor do I think that he will. I have stopped emailing him b/c its not worth it. He gave me his word, and up until now his word hasnt held up. So now I sit here on my couch typing this story on my new Macbook Pro, no marks, no scratches, and no power cord hooked up.

Macbook Pro: Part One
The other day I wrote a post about "venting" on this here blog, and that soon there would be a post about that. Well, after talking with some close friends, my parents, and most importantly my wife...I decided not to take that route. It would be sad and wrong for me to do that, to bash people and expose some of their faults...when I have(although not necessarily the same ones) huge faults of my own that need to be dealt with. I have decided to move on with my life, and not worry and stress over these particular situations. Its not worth me being ill over. In fact, I should count my blessings, b/c in one situation I do believe the Lord blessed me b/c of my patience toward the other person. I will tell the story, although I will not bash the other person...even though I have every right to. I'm telling the story b/c this is a blog, and a blog is for stories like this to be told.
PART ONE
On Dec. 3, I saw a "famous blogger" had a Macbook Pro for sale. I've been wanting one for a while. This person was selling this Macbook Pro for a great price. It had a few dents and scratches on it, and it didnt work unless you had the power cord plugged in. This person said he had tried new batteries, new power cord, and Apple wanted to charge him a ton of money to fix it. However, knowing this and being the nerd that I am, the price was too low for me to pass up. I talked to Megan about it, and I emailed this person saying I was interested and that I could pay them that day(thats how I roll haha [just kidding]). That person emailed back and said I was the most serious buyer. Long story, short...I sent out a Money Order that day to this person...he received it a couple days later.
Mid-December, I have not received laptop. Quick note here...I gave this person my mailing address multiple times and email and phone number. This person tells me that his "assistant" mailed the computer to the wrong address. Umm..ok. I'm patient and very calm at this point. Here is the fun part. It is after Christmas by this time(bought this on Dec. 3), this person tells me that b/c I had to wait so long that they would pay me $200 for my troubles along with the computer. This made things a little better...to be continued
Come back tomorrow for Part Two...you wont want to miss this conclusion..trust me!

Monday AM Thoughts
Ah yes, another installment of Monday AM Thoughts. Check it out.
-First off, I overslept today. Huge milestone for me. Never happens. Yes, I'm one of those people that hear the alarm(if I even make it that far), and hop up. I cant help it, its just what I do.
-Moving on...We had a great morning yesterday at Crossroads. I love the freedom we have there. We had an extended time of worship in the second service, and I hear a ton of people saying that they love that freedom we have with that. Agendas are good, but man when God is moving in a room and among the people...I got news for you, agendas mean nothing.
-Set list is posted below. Check it out. David's new song is awesome. I really enjoyed playing it and learning it.
-Megan and I did some cleaning around the house this weekend. Its fun owning a house b/c your imagination can run wild with different things to fix up.
-Little fix ups can make a huge difference.
-Why are curtains so expensive? Weird.
-I'm going to try and cut out ice cream for a while. Its become addicting almost to me, and its not that good for me. So once my last half-gallon is gone from the freezer...no more for a while.
-I love having Saturday's with no agenda. I love going to different stores and things with Megan on Saturday's.
-I need a new header for my blog, I think I'm going to get Lauren(David's Wife) to design something for me. You should too. Email her.
-I was walking the dog yesterday and there were some grandkids over at our neighbors house. They were playing in the yard. One of the little boys looked over and said really loud, "Oh my gosh, look at the snow doggy!" That was classic.
-I sold a pedalboard last night. Awesome.
-Yes, I will have a yard sale this Spring.
-I cant think of anything else at the moment.

What's a blog for?
I cant answer that question for anyone but myself. The purpose of my blog is to share random stories from my life. Maybe some of those stories will make you laugh, who knows...maybe some will make you cry. Maybe some of the stories/thoughts I share are insightful in some way. This is a place for me to come and type what is on my heart. Sometimes what comes out is silly and stupid...but who cares. One thing I want my blog to be though is Honest. I dont want to hide behind some mask. When people come here I want them to know me. I'm not a perfect person. I fall down a lot. I mess up a bunch. I want people to see that side of me too. I get angry at times just like everyone else. I get sad sometimes. I have bad days just like you do. I want this blog to be about honesty.
Just so you know.

The Ipod Shuffle and a game

A year ago for Christmas, Megan bought me a great gift. She bought me the ipod shuffle. I love this thing. It is sooo small and it has a small little clip on it. It is perfect for working out. And thats exactly what it is used for. It has just enough room on it to put a playlist of workout tunes. I think I read somewhere the other day that they just lowered the price on these things. I think its a great purchase for situations that you dont feel like carrying the "big" ipod.
Speaking of Ipods. I'd love to know what is on everyone's playlists these days. So...lets play a little game. The game goes like this. Take your ipod, hit shuffle, then post the first 10 songs that come up to play. No cheating, no substituting songs...share the first ten songs. Im going to do it as well.
Ready...set...go

Taxes

Ah yes, it is tax season. A dreadful time for most.
This year Megan and I found out, after reading Metamorphosis's Church newsletter that a guy here in the Mauldin area(a professional tax preparer if you will) would donate 100% of his earnings back to the church. His name is Dewey Craig, and he was great. I didnt know what to expect. He explained everything and helped us understand things. He also knew a ton and knew about deductions and things that I had never dreamed of. It was a Win-Win situation for us. We got our taxes done by a professional, and we were able to give some money to Metamorphosis.
Now we wait patiently for the refund.
If you're interested in using Mr. Craig to do your taxes, let me know and I'll get you his contact info.

Forgive me?
Forgive me for not writing many posts this week. I've been trying to stop from getting sick. I started feeling bad Monday night...and after drinking a ton of water and Vitamin/Fruit Drinks..I'm feeling much better today. So hopefully there will be some posts on the way.
In the meantime, enjoy this picture I found online when I googled Mullets.

Monday AM Thoughts
Here are some thoughts for today. Enjoy.
-One of the best services I've ever been a part of yesterday at Crossroads.
-Rich Butler absolutely nailed it yesterday. He spoke on Prayer. Go to CRCC website and listen to this message.
-I got to play electric guitar which was a lot of fun. I'm thinking the Boss DD-20 was one of best pedal purchases I've made, along with the wonderful Tuner pedal of course.
-Megan and I went out to lunch with some great friends from CRCC after church. Good time of fellowship and a lot of laughs for sure.
-David and I led worship for the CRCC youth last night. Never been around a student ministry that was this on fire for the Lord. Revival is taking place folks.
-Why does it always rain when I have to carry my instruments and gear outside?
-I didnt watch the TV at all yesterday, and it was one of the best days I've had. Of course, I didnt have much time to watch it...but it felt good to get away from it and focus my attention on some other things...like deleting all my duplicate songs off itunes.
-Twitter is not really any fun anymore. I got hooked at first, and now I dont think I've posted anything in like two weeks. I think a blog is sufficient.
-I got a new camera last week. I'll post more on that later. I'm looking forward to becoming an Adobe professional.
-I need to go to the gym more this week. Now that my tattoo is healed, I have no excuse.
-Does anyone have a Nintendo 64 w/ Mario Kart that they want to sell for cheap? Me, Zach(my brother), and his g/f Sarah have all been craving some Mario Kart.
-Megan and I sold our old(when I say old, I dont mean old and rugged...I just mean we dont use them anymore) washer and dryer. It was good to get that out of the way.
-By the way, I sold them on Craigslist. I love it. I've made some good money off of Craigslist getting rid of things I dont need or use anymore.
-Have a great day.

Nice Deal
Megan and I went to BiLo tonight for a quick grocery/essentials trip. You know...like Ice Cream, Coffee Creamer, Cereal...the usual. Well, we were in the fruit/veggie section and we started looking at the juices and stuff. I looked for a few of the flavors that Josh recommended the other day here. When I was looking, I noticed that a few of the drinks were on special. The POM teas were on special(the cool kind where you can keep the glass it comes in) as well as a cool flavor of the Boathouse Farm drinks I like. When I say special, I mean they were on special for $1.00. What?
Yea, I cleaned the shelf.

Men, do you sit down to pee?
You must watch the video in order to understand the title of this post. You need to watch the whole thing, it'll take a few minutes. I'm glad I have found out what is wrong with the world.

Valentines Day
Last night Megan and I went out for Valentines b/c she has to work Thursday. We went to one of my all time favorite resteraunts, Kanpai of Tokyo. Me and 606 used to tear up some Kanpai back in the college days. And I'm sure if he lived in Greenville, itd be a common thing to eat there. Its a fun atmosphere, every now and then you can meet some cool people that sit with you, and the food is really good.

I do believe that our cook was a Mexican. He had a cool accent, and kept calling Megan Senorita. It was awesome. And the dude could flat out cook.
Next time you're in Greenville, you ought to check out the Kanpai of Tokyo.

Bloggers in Uganda

A group of bloggers set out to Uganda a couple days ago with Compassion International. The goal is to get 500 children sponsored during the duration of their trip. I do believe it can be done. Megan and I sponsor a child and it, along with tithing, is one of the most fun checks to write every month. Its something to definitely pray about for sure. So spread the word if you have a blog or facebook or anything. Its amazing how just a little bit of money can make such a huge difference in someones life.
Do it.

Good times
Had a good time with Megan last night. She didnt have to work, which she usually has to on Monday nights. I was really excited b/c I knew she'd be able to watch my favorite show on Monday's with me....American Gladiators. Oh yea, you know you like it. I got home from work today really tired. For some reason we just had a crazy busy day, and I got home late. Its amazing how much better things get when I walk in the house and see my wife and my dog. Although Maya(dog) usually beats Megan to see me at the door. We went to the gym and got in a good hour workout. Then came home and grilled fresh shrimp and asparagus.
Sidenote: I'm really loving my grill. Its just fun. It was such a great present from my Dad this year. I can see myself using this thing quite a bit this Spring and Summer.
After dinner, it was time for American Gladiators and chill out time.
And after such a long day, BG was in the bed early.
So that was my Monday night.

Monday AM Thoughts
-Had a great morning at Crossroads yesterday. It was good to be there.
-My wife is going to start doing some work in the children's ministry. She'll be good at that for sure.
-Im really tired for some reason today.
-Really enjoyed watching the UNC vs. Clemson game last night. Clemson should have won the game...but they didnt. I like UNC basketball.
-Had a great weekend just hanging out, no agenda.
-Went to a memorial service for Jimmy Ray yesterday. I grew up with their family. Matt, the middle son, was one of my best friends growing up and in church. Im praying for them.
-Tried out the new grill last night. I believe my first steaks were a success. I think that the grill will get used quite a bit.
-I love our house. Just being out on the porch last night, and overlooking our backyard and the woods. Im thankful.
-Went to take the dog out yesterday, noticed smoke and fire across the street(a house for sale, no one lives there). A pine tree had definitely fallen over, snapped the power line(which was laying in the street along with the huge pine tree), and started a fire and the wind was blowing it all over the yard. It took forever for the Fire dpt. to get there, even though they are literally 30 seconds from my house haha. Maybe they were watching the Pro Bowl or something.
-The fire brought out all the neighbors, so we finally got to meet our neighbors and all.
-I bought a shop-vac with a Sears gift card I had. Everyone needs a shop vac.
-CRCC has a new website. Its pretty sweet. Its amazing how many people are at Crossroads from coming across their website.
-Its time to go to work.

Purpose Driven?
I'll admit openly, I never jumped on the Purpose Driven LIfe, 40 Days of Purpose bandwagon. Not that it was a bandwagon, I just happened to think of that word. People would ask all the time, have you read Purpose Driven Life...bla, bla, bla...I would always say yes. I mean I could quote the first sentence of the book, doesnt that count for anything? I knew about Rick Warren. I knew that he wore these killer Hawaiin shirts to church. I do, in all honesty, believe that there was a lot of good that came from 40 days of Purpose, and the book Purpose Driven Life. I have no doubt in my mind about it. I own the book. Maybe I'll read it sometime.
Why am I saying all this? I dont really know to be very honest with you. I do know that I was reading Jay's blog and saw a side of Rick Warren that impressed me. I had heard a couple of the things, but I do believe they are worth sharing. Jay had the chance to fly to Washington this past Monday for a diddy with some pastors and Rick Warren. He(Jay) shared some great insight from his day in Washington, and I just wanted to post some things that really made me respect Rick Warren a whole lot more. Rick is not only talking the talk, but he is walking the walk.
Here is an exerpt from Jay's blog:
On this generosity note, you need to know some things about Rick...
he lives in the same house he has lived in for the last 14 years
he drives an old Ford truck
he doesn't have a second house, an airplane, or a boat
he pays for all of his trips to speak, train, teach, etc.
has not taken a salary from Saddleback in years...and paid back every dime the church paid him from its inception
he and Kay "reverse tithe"...they live off 10% and give away 90%
The strongest statement Rick made all day was at the end of this discussion:
"I'd rather die than embarrass Jesus Christ."
"God doesn't anoint churches, programs, strategies, and buildings to accomplish His purposes. He anoints people to accomplish His purposes."
Rick, Thanks for setting an example and practicing what you preach. Now, if you'll excuse me I need to go find my Purpose Driven Life book.

I never can think of titles for my posts. So today I'll just stick with no title. We had practice last night for church on Sunday. It went really well. We spent 20-30 minutes before practice just talking about worship. We reflected on this article that David read us from his blog. The article is by Ray Hughes. Check it out.
"If the enemy could not destroy the people of God, the second-best plan was to put them into captivity, thereby controlling their worship. (The story of Moses and the children of Israel is a prime example of this scenario.) One of the primary purposes for praise and worship is to cover the throne of God and create a habitation that the Lord can enthrone Himself upon. The enemy has always attempted to thwart this purpose of worship.
Lucifer was the “anointed cherub that covereth the throne” of God. Within his very being he had the ability to make music. When he rebelled he said, “I will be like the Most High.” What most people don’t know is that he pulled it off. He is like the Most High; he is a counterfeit. When he was cast down, he took a third of the angels with him. He also left the throne uncovered. Therefore, God said, “I will raise up a people who will worship me, a people who will cover the throne. I will enthrone myself upon the praises of my people.” We take the place that Lucifer once had. As a result, he is so angry and jealous toward our place that he will do whatever it takes to stop us from fulfilling this purpose.
Since then it has been his purpose to make sure that we don’t walk in the reality for which we were created. Lucifer creates fads, trends and soulish excitement around releases of emotion that distract from the One who is worthy. He sets us up for fights and arguments over musical styles and preferences, he creates big music productions that simply emulate real worship and perpetuate the regurgitation of soulish displays. These things are all to steal, kill and destroy the true releases of worship that penetrate the spirit realm to change things in the heavenlies. As a result of the enemy’s devices, we now have huge musical extravaganzas that can attract man, not God. So now God is raising up a generation of people who are releasing a sound that He is attracted to. This sound is untainted by the destructive devices and obstacles that the enemy has effectively used in past generations."
Yea, I'm still chewing on it too. Its a great article though. We just spent some time talking about it, and then we had a great prayer time. I love how we did this before even picking up our instruments or sing a note.
Im ready for something new.

Ink
Unfortunately I didnt make LA Ink like this guy, but I didnt try either. I did however go to a really cool place in Hendersonville, NC to get my second tattoo. These guys are great. The place is called Two Kings Tattooing. The shop is very neat looking, very sanitary looking...all these are good things by the way. I got my first tattoo over a year and a half ago. Its on my left wrist. I've known for a while that I would like to get another one. But I think the one obstacle that holds a ton of people back is what do i get? Well, after getting an idea online, I ran with it. I knew it was me, and I really liked the statement it made.
I havent really taken many pics of it, its still quite bruised and swollen. Its just a part of the body(inner bicep)that isnt used to being pricked with a "15 mag"(as the tattoo artist called it haha). Megan snapped a few photos while I was in pain. It took over an hour and a half to get it done. I really like it, I think the guy did a great job. He took my idea, and although it was tricky to get the text part correct, he did a great job with it.

I'll post some more pics as it heals up.

Monday, Monday.....Monday
-Had a great morning yesterday at Metamorphosis.
-Cant wait to play at Crossroads again either. I really enjoy right now in my life having the flexibility to play at different churches on Sunday's and Wednesday's.
-Giants won, I'm glad. I'll share some funny stuff I read later today in a post.
-Does Bill Bellicheck(or however you spell his last name) have a heart? I mean seriously.
-I twittered this earlier, but a policeman pulled out in front of me on my way to work, and I absolutely blew my horn for what seemed like forever...and it felt so good b/c there was nothing he could do. He actually sped away(probably going at least 60 in a 40) almost like he didnt want me to see him since he knew he messed up. poor baby.
-We are taking our dog to the groomer today. Huskey's shed like crazy. They tell us they do this special treatment that will help get all the loose hairs out. Bring it on. I dont care how much it cost. If it works, big IF, then I will hug the groomer.
-If you have a dog that sheds, a bagless vacuum is the way to go. We vacuum everyday, and its so nice just to pull the container out and dump it in the trash.
-It was so nice outside yesterday. Megan, Maya(dog), and I sat outside yesterday and just read and stuff. Good times at the new house.
-I did get another tattoo this weekend. I'll post about it later. My arm is definitely red and swollen. I think it turned out really well.
-Got some good hang out time with my mom this weekend. We went to visit my great-grandmother, then went for some starbucks. I introduced her to the Cafe Vanilla Frappucino. She's hooked. Starbucks can thank me.
-Its time to go to work.
**On another note, I wanted to send out my prayers and thoughts to the Ray family. They were like my second family when I was growing up. Matt(middle brother out of 3, and my age) and I would hang out all the time and were best friends from church and all. His dad, Jimmy, passed away unexpectedly this past weekend. My heart seriously broke as I read the email last night that gave me the news. In that instant, time stood still...the superbowl didnt matter, having material things didnt matter...what mattered was cherishing the things that are so dear to me like my wife and my family and my friends. Life is short. Praying for you Ray family.**

Metamorphosis Church
Led worship this morning at Metamorphosis Church. I thought the service went well. It seemed like there were a ton of new faces which is really cool.
Set
Happy Day
Salvation is Here
All we Need
Oh the Blood
Watching the superbowl now. It really doesnt matter to me who wins this one, but it'd be cool to see the Giants pull out a win.
